BNSF Coal Fuel Surcharge for March 2012

This is to advise you that the BNSF coal fuel surcharge for the month of March will be:

    32.5 percent, as provided in Item 3380 ($1.24 strike price) of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
    17.0 percent, as provided in Item 3382 ($2.50 strike price) of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
The mileage-based fuel surcharge on unit coal for the month of March will be:
    $0.44/mile, as provided in Item 3381 ($1.25 strike price) of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
    $0.23/mile, as provided in Item 3383 ($2.50 strike price) of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
The All Other Freight mileage-based fuel surcharge for the month of March will be:
    $0.66/mile, as provided in Item 3375, Section B ($1.25 strike price) of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
    $0.35/mile, as provided in Item 3376, Section B ($2.50 strike price) of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
These fuel surcharges are based on the national highway diesel fuel average price of $3.833 per gallon reported in January.

As communicated previously for February, the percent-of-revenue-based coal fuel surcharge will be 33.0 percent and 17.5 percent; the mileage-based unit coal fuel surcharge will be $0.44/mile and $0.23/mile; and the All Other Freight mileage-based coal fuel surcharge will be $0.66/mile and $0.35/mile, based on Items 3375-3383 of BNSF Rules Book 6100-A.
