Road Closures Near BNSF’s Seattle International Gateway October 21-31
The Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program, which includes projects led by the Washington State Department of Transportation, City of Seattle, King County and Port of Seattle, will cause a nine-day closure of several roads used to access the Port of Seattle (near-docks and on-docks) and BNSF’s Seattle International Gateway (SIG) Facility.
The closure will occur from 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, through 5:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, and will affect SR 99 in the following locations:
· Southbound SR 99
o Between the Battery Street Tunnel and West Seattle Bridge – Closed around-the-clock
· Northbound SR 99:
o Between the West Seattle Bridge and South Royal Brougham Way – Closed around-the-clock
o Between the South Royal Brougham Way on-ramp and the Battery Street Tunnel – Open Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Open for special events at CenturyLink Field
The BNSF SIG Facility will remain open during the construction, but drivers will need to check the latest information from the DOT for reroutes, traffic advisories and other related information on the Alaskan Way Viaduct project website.
