Changes to Billing for Moves on AGR
BNSF Railway and the Alabama and Gulf Coast Railway (AGR) are preparing for a modification of the accounting relationship between our railroads.
Currently, the AGR operates as BNSF’s handling carrier, allowing BNSF to publish rates directly to and from AGR stations; however, effective Friday, April 1, 2011, we will be changing to an ISS (linehaul) carrier accounting relationship.
BNSF will continue to publish rates for traffic originating and terminating on the AGR; however, beginning April 1, the AGR will need to be added as a linehaul carrier in the route. In addition, for shipments originating on the AGR, the bill of lading will need to be submitted directly to the AGR instead of BNSF.
This change affects all traffic, with the exception of traffic originating and terminating at Hamilton, MS, and traffic open to BNSF via reciprocal switch from other carriers at Mobile, Demopolis and Boligee, AL, Linden, MS, and Pensacola, FL.
