Metals LOGs Rollover and Auction : Rollover by April 7, 2016, Auction Begins April 11, 2016

BNSF is offering current Metals LOGs permit holders the option to rollover their current weekly commitment at $0 premium. The official rollover instrument (email) will be sent the week of March 28th to the email address on file for existing LOGs permits. Permit holders must execute the rollover via email by April 7, 2016.

Following the rollover, BNSF will post the remaining available weekly LOGs capacity on our LOGS auction Web site. Based on equipment availability and the results of the rollover option, BNSF will offer the remaining LOGs capacity beginning Monday, April 11, 2016. All eligible customers (per the LOGs rules) will continue to have the opportunity to bid in the LOGs auction.

The following list highlights the key features of the 2016 LOGs program:

  • LOGs customers will be subject to the same pricing as non-LOGs shipments, with the exception of any eligible freight deductions/allowances.
  • Current LOGs permit holders will be emailed an official rollover instrument to be executed via email by April 7, 2016.
  • The freight deduction remains the same for 52-week permits at $50 per car.
  • The weekly ordering deviation for all permits will remain at -20% / +10%.
Guaranteed equipment and placement of gondolas, bulkhead flatcars and transverse covered coil cars will be offered for a 52, 26, 13 and 4-week permit through BNSF's Loading Origin Guarantees(LOGs) Program.

The auctions will begin Monday, April 11, 2016, with auctions to be held each Monday (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT) through and including Monday, April 18, 2016, or until all available equipment has been allocated, whichever is sooner.

For information about the various LOGs applications and how to use the program please review the LOGs quick reference guide.
