Perishable LOGS Enhancements and Freight Incentives for Frozen Vegetables BNSFQ 112622 and Frozen Meat & Poultry BNQ 105784

BNSF is pleased to announce that beginning Monday, January 11, 2010, guaranteed equipment and placement of refrigerated boxcars will be offered for a 52-week permit through BNSF’s Loading Origin Guarantees (LOGS) Program.

In addition, BNSF is offering perishable boxcar shippers per car incentives for their commitment to the LOGS program. BNSF will offer a $300 discount for all 52-week permits, a $150 discount for all 26-week permits and a $75 discount for all 13-week permits shipping under the BNSF public frozen fruits and vegetables document BNSFQ 112622. BNSF will offer a $75 discount for all 13-week permits shipping under the BNSF public meat & poultry document BNQ 105784. There is no discount for 4-week permits.

The above discount amounts are only applicable to the initial 13-week and 26-week LOGS offerings in 2010. All subsequent 13-week and 26-week discount amounts are subject to equipment availability.

The 52-, 26-, 13- and 4-week auction periods will begin Monday, January 11, 2010, with auctions to be held each Monday (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CST) through and including Monday, February 1, 2010, or until all available equipment has been allocated.

LOGS will be available for reserving both CARB TRU ATCM compliant 72-foot refrigerated boxcars and non-compliant CARB TRU ATCM 72-foot refrigerated boxcars. For more information on CARB compliance, please see our December Marketing News.

Permit holders may choose to receive their incentive in the form of a freight rate deduction or as an allowance payment. Choosing a freight rate deduction will result in the freight payor receiving a discounted freight bill. Allowance payments are made directly to the permit holder regardless of the freight payor. Permit holders who elect to receive their LOGS discount by allowance will receive their payment by ACH deposit, and can sign up prior to the auction by completing the attached form. Customers will receive payment details when their deposit is made.
