The Union Pacific Railway reported a train derailed near Bena, California at
6:40 p.m. Central Time Monday, July 22, 2013. This location is approximately
20 miles south of Bakersfield, California. BNSF trains operate over this segment
of track, and cannot advance until a route is open.
Operations personnel are currently on site assessing impact and working to
reopen this lane. Estimated time of opening of the main track is 5:00 a.m.
Central Time Tuesday July 23, 2013.
