Preliminary Report: Derailment near Black Bear, Oklahoma

We have a preliminary report that a UP merchandise train, F MHOWT1 25, has derailed 18 cars on BNSF Railway main track near Black Bear, OK at 9:45 AM CDT on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Black Bear, OK is 72 miles north of Oklahoma City and 49 miles east of Enid, OK

BNSF personnel are on site. At the current time we have no estimated time of the main line returning to service; reroutes are being considered in order to minimize impact to our customers. BNSF will continue to provide you with additional information as it becomes available. Customers may experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
