Preliminary Report: Track Outage at Sais, New Mexico

Grain train G-LUBSTO5-14 had an equipment issue that blocked the single main track at Sais, New Mexico delaying traffic through the area for approximately 7 hours. This location is approximately 20 miles east of Belen, New Mexico. The train has been repaired and the track is back in service.

As a result of this incident, Intermodal trains could experience delays of 6 to 8 hours and other traffic could see delays of 10 to 12 hours throughout the recovery.
