Preliminary Report: Mudslide at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin

At 8:15 p.m. Central time, June 22, 2013, a mudslide occurred on both main tracks between Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, and Lynxville, Wisconsin. Prairie du Chien is 68 miles south of La Crosse, Wisconsin, near the Iowa border. These locations are on BNSF’s Aurora Subdivision which moves trains between Aurora, Illinois (near Chicago) and La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Estimated time of opening for both main tracks is 2 p.m. Central time, June 23, 2013. BNSF will provide updates as information becomes available.

Customers may experience delays of 24 to 48 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
