Updated Report: Colorado Flooding

Beginning Thursday, September 12, 2013, the cumulative effects of a week of heavy rain began affecting BNSF main tracks at locations near Denver, Colorado. The affected BNSF locations are listed below.

The track at South Colorado Springs, Colorado was returned to service at 8:00 p.m. Central Time. South Colorado Springs, Colorado is approximately 72 miles south of Denver, Colorado.

The tracks at Boulder, Colorado and Loveland, Colorado are out of service due to multiple washouts. Boulder, Colorado is approximately 30 miles northwest of Denver, Colorado, and Loveland, Colorado is approximately 52 miles north of Denver, Colorado. No estimated return to service has been issued. Customers between Broomfield, Colorado, and Dixon, Colorado, will not be serviced until track is restored.

The tracks at Messex, Colorado, Sterling, Colorado and Moffat, Colorado are out of service due to multiple washouts. Messex, Colorado is approximately 110 miles northeast of Denver, Colorado, Sterling, Colorado is approximately 130 miles north of Denver, Colorado and Moffat, Colorado is approximately 100 miles northwest of Denver, Colorado. Messex, Colorado and Moffat, Colorado are Union Pacific tracks where BNSF operates. No estimated return to service has been issued.
