Preliminary Report: Wildfires in Academy, Colorado

Wildfires continue to sweep across portions of Central Colorado. As a result of a wildfire
crossing the BNSF rail lines near Academy, Colorado which is between Colorado Spring and
Monument, Colorado, traffic through the area has been halted.

BNSF personnel are on scene to determine the impact of the fires and to ensure that rail
operations can safely continue.

Due to nature of wildfires, dry weather conditions and shifting winds, intermittent interruptions to
service may be experienced over the next 24-48 hours.

BNSF may reroute some traffic in order to minimize impact to service. We will continue to provide
you with additional information as it becomes available.

Customer traffic may experience delays of 24 to 48 hours on shipments moving through this
