Adjusted Mileage for BNSF Mileage-Based Fuel Surcharge
Due to the recent updates to PC*Miler version 20, effective Monday, Sep. 1, 2014, BNSF will upgrade to PC*Miler Rail version 20.3 from ALK Technologies as the mileage source for BNSF Local, BNSF portion of Rule 11 and Interline moves on which BNSF has pricing authority. BNSF will use the PC*Miler Rail Fuel Surcharge Router option in version 20.3 to calculate total miles for these moves. This represents a change from PC*Miler Rail Fuel Surcharge Router version 20.1, which BNSF has used since April 1, 2014.
For details about the updates to PC*Miler version 20.3, see the ALK Technologies website.
ALK Technologies is a private software company. Updates to PC*Miler are the exclusive decision of ALK Technologies and are not dictated or controlled by BNSF.
For auditing purposes, version 20.1 mileages will remain available on the BNSF website after the upgrade to version 20.3.
Customers can continue to look up mileage for unit train movements subject to the coal unit train mileage table on the Web.
