BNSF Capacity and Resources Well-Positioned as Strike Ends
On Wednesday, December 5, members of the Office Clerical Unit (OCU) of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) returned to work after reaching an agreement on a new contract, ending the strike that disrupted 10 of the 14 container terminals at the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach.
Your business is important to us. Thank you for choosing BNSF Railway as your transportation service provider.
BNSF operations and network remained fluid throughout the strike and we are working closely with our customers to ensure that any delayed shipments move quickly to markets and consumers. We are well-positioned with resources and capacity to match ocean carrier and terminal operator’s needs as they process their respective cargo and vessel backlogs. BNSF continued to accept cargo throughout the strike and our network, facilities and capabilities were not strained.
