BNSF and CSX Move Birmingham Interchange to Memphis Effective January 4, 2007
Effective January 4, 2007, BNSF Railway and CSX Intermodal will request that all intermodal traffic moving between California points and Charleston, Savannah, and all Florida points be billed with a Memphis (BNSF-MEMPH-CSXT) route. This change is due to extensive maintenance of way projects planned in the Birmingham area during the first quarter of 2007. These projects will result in a change in operations in the area.
To facilitate the Memphis route, the applicable BNSF-BHAM-CSXT and CSXT-BHAM-BNSF rate lines will no longer be available on January 3, 2007.
In addition, NACS equipment will no longer be offered between BNSF points in California and Charlotte, Charleston, and Florida points effective January 3, 2007.
Please establish pricing using the Memphis gateway prior to January 3, 2007.
Traffic moving between California points and Atlanta and Charlotte will continue to be billed with a Birmingham (BNSF-BHAM-CSXT) route.
If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact your BNSF Intermodal Sales Representative at 888-428-2673, or your CSX Intermodal Sales Representative. Your business is important to us. Thank you again for choosing BNSF as your transportation provider.
