New Automotive Train V-PTLKCK - Designed to Improve Service to Kansas City and Alliance Effective September 14, 2006
In order to improve transit time, predictability of service, and consistency in shipping automobiles from the Pacific Northwest, BNSF will add a new train, the V-PTLKCK, effective September 14, 2006.
There are no changes in goal hours; however, published transit standards will be reduced to one day per week service in these lanes. BNSF expects rail transit time to improve 24 to 48 hours over current actual transits. This train is scheduled to operate on Thursdays and will handle traffic destined to Kansas City, Kansas and Alliance, Texas.
As a result, effective September 7, 2006, Portland and Vancouver customers should load/release their automotive traffic destined to Kansas City and Alliance only on Wednesdays. Tacoma customers should load/release their automotive traffic destined to Kansas City and Alliance only on Tuesdays. Tacoma traffic will setout at Hauser, Washington for connection to the V-PTLKCK.
Additional Changes in Service
In addition to running only one train per week out of Portland and Vancouver, BNSF is reducing the current V-PTLLPC service from five days a week to four, and will no longer handle Kansas City and Alliance volumes on that train. The departure days for the V-PTLLPC will continue to be flexible based on volume and customer needs.
