BNSF Expands International Doublestack Service from the Pacific Northwest to the Midwest
BNSF Railway is pleased to announce service enhancements to expand our International Intermodal doublestack container service from Seattle and Tacoma to Logistics Park Chicago and Chicago beyond. The following enhancements and will be effective Tuesday, August 3, 2010:
· Seattle International Gateway (SIG) to NS and CSX over the Chicago gateway will increase from four to five days of service.
· SIG to Logistics Park Chicago (LPC) will increase from four to five days of service.
· All Tacoma terminals to Chicago beyond points will increase to four days of service.
· All Tacoma terminals to LPC will increase to three days of service.
In addition, service days are being modified in our Northern corridor to support vessel string and terminal operation changes. Schedules from Chicago to Omaha are also being adjusted to meet current volumes. All of these enhancements are designed to increase reliability of BNSF service.
