BNSF Automotive 2009 Christmas and New Year’s Operating Plan

HOLIDAY OBSERVANCE
This year, the Christmas and New Year’s holidays fall on Thursday, December 24, Friday, December 25, Thursday, December 31, 2009, and Friday, January 1, 2010.

TRAIN SERVICE
Due to lighter volumes of traffic over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, shipments originating or terminating Tuesday, December 22, through Tuesday, January 5,may arrive at destination facilities as much as 72 hours later than normal. BNSF will not run trains and automotive facilities will not have railcars spotted on Christmas Eve, December 24, through Christmas Day, December 25, and New Year’s Eve, December 31, through New Year’s Day, January 1.

INTERLINE TRAFFIC
Delays may occur on interline traffic as connecting carriers are expected to have reduced operations for the holidays.

AUTOMOTIVE FACILITY OPERATIONS
On Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, there will be no loading or unloading of railcars. Gate activities will vary by facility. Please see the attached matrix for all facility hours during the holiday period.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT
For interactive tracing 365 days per year, please use BNSF’s Web Tracing at www.bnsf.com by logging in with your username and password, then selecting the “Equipment Tracing” section. For service issues, please call 1-888-428-2673, options 4, 3.

Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve until 6:00 p.m. Normal coverage will resume at 6:00 a.m. on the Saturday following each holiday.

SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS
Shipping instructions must be submitted via EDI or by using the BNSF Shipping Instructions web tool at www.bnsf.com. Faxed shipping instructions are not accepted. Assistance with shipping instructions at the BNSF Revenue and Pre-Rate Waybilling Center is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Please call 1-888-428-2673, options 3, 2, 3, for assistance.
