BNSF Automotive 2015 Thanksgiving Operating Plan
This year, BNSF will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27.
The number of trains operating on BNSF track is typically lower over the Thanksgiving holiday due to reduced freight volume. BNSF's Automotive 2015 operating plan for the Thanksgiving holiday will adjust operations to account for this potential reduction in traffic while remaining focused on meeting customers’ expectations.
Due to lighter volumes and possible train consolidations, we anticipate that outbound and inbound shipments on Tuesday, November 24, through Monday, November 30, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 48 hours.
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.
