Final Report: Derailment near Blanding, Illinois
As stated in the Service Advisory issued July 28, 2011, coal train C SXMCSW0 19 derailed near Blanding, Illinois on the Aurora Subdivision at 12:03 a.m. CDT on July 28, 2011, which blocked both main tracks. This location is approximately 20 miles north of Savanna, Illinois. The Aurora Sub runs between Aurora, Illinois and North Lacrosse, Wisconsin.
Main track two was returned to service around 16:05 p.m. CDT on Monday, August 1, 2011.
Main track one was returned to service around 20:20 p.m. CDT on Monday, August 1 2011.
