Final Report: Derailment Near Baring, Missouri

        As mentioned in a Service Advisory on October 24, 2008, BNSF reported that train G LOWELP9 22 derailed blocking both main tracks on the Marceline Subdivision. The derailment location is between Baring, Missouri and Hurdland, Missouri, approximately 60 miles west of Ft. Madison, Iowa.

        Main track 2 was returned to service at 9:00 a.m. CT and main track 1 was returned to service at 1:00 p.m. CT today, October 25, 2008.

        Traffic volume remains high and BNSF will continue to monitor flow to maintain fluidity.

        Customers may experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
