BNSF Automotive 2014 Christmas and New Year’s Operating Plan

HOLIDAY OBSERVANCE
This year, the Christmas holiday falls on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and Thursday, Dec. 25, and the New Year’s holiday on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Thursday, Jan. 1.

TRAIN SERVICE
BNSF's Automotive 2014 operating plan for the Christmas holiday will remain focused on meeting customers' expectations while matching operations to any reductions in traffic volumes. Due to higher ground counts at origins, near normal train operations are planned. However, due to varied daily volumes over the holidays and possible train consolidations, we anticipate that shipments originating or arriving destination on Monday, Dec. 22, through Sunday, Jan. 4, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 72 hours.

INTERLINE TRAFFIC
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.

AUTOMOTIVE FACILITY OPERATIONS
On Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, there will be no loading or unloading of railcars. Gate activities will vary by facility. Please see the attached matrix for all facility hours during the holiday period.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT
For interactive tracing 365 days a year, please use BNSF’s Web Tracing tool by logging in with your user name and password and selecting Track Your Shipment. For service issues, please call 888-428-2673 and select option 4, then option 3.

Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve until 6 p.m. Normal coverage will resume at 6 a.m. on the Friday following each holiday.

SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS
Shipping instructions must be submitted via EDI or by using the BNSF Shipping Instructions Web tool. Faxed shipping instructions are not accepted. Assistance with shipping instructions at BNSF Waybill Solutions is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please call 888-428-2673 and select option 3, option 2 and option 3 for assistance.
