Final Report: Tornado Moore, Oklahoma
As mentioned in an earlier advisory, BNSF Railway's signal system was affected by a tornado touching
down in Moore, Oklahoma at approximately 2:45 p.m. Central Time. Moore, Oklahoma is 11 miles south of
Oklahoma City. The track segment between Oklahoma City and Purcell, Oklahoma had been taken out of
service to allow community emergency services to operate unhindered.
Service was restored to the area at approximately 07:30 a.m. Central Time May 21, 2013. Customers may
experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
