BNSF Automotive 2006 Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Operating Plan

This year BNSF’s Christmas and New Year’s operating plan will focus on meeting customers’ expectations while allowing as many employees as possible to spend time with their families on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Holiday Observance
This year the Christmas and New Year’s holidays fall on Sunday, December 24, Monday, December 25, Sunday, December 31 and Monday, January 1, 2007.

Train Service
BNSF will continue to operate Vehicle and Intermodal/Vehicle trains over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Traffic that either originates or arrives at destination Saturday, December 23, through noon on Tuesday, January 2, may experience extended destination availabilities of 24 to72 hours.

Please contact your BNSF Automotive Marketing or Customer Support Representative if you anticipate critical service requirements over the holiday.

Interline Traffic
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.

Automotive Facility Operations
On Christmas and New Year’s Day, there will be no loading or unloading of railcars. Gate activities will vary by facility. Please see the attached matrix for all facility hours during the holiday period.

Customer Support
Customer Support will maintain a limited staff on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Normal coverage will resume on the Tuesday following each holiday. For assistance, please call 1-888-428-2673, options 4, 3.

Shipping Instructions
