Update Report: Track Washouts in North Dakota

As reported in a Service Advisory on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 BNSF was experiencing flooding and washouts on three subdivisions in North Dakota.

The KO Subdivision was returned to service at 10:40 p.m. CDT on April 15, 2009. The location of this washout was between New Rockford and Bremen, North Dakota, approximately 75 miles east of Minot, North Dakota. Customers may experience delays on traffic moving through this area due to heavy traffic volume. BNSF will continue to monitor traffic flow to maintain fluidity.

The Jamestown Subdivision was returned to service at 1:45 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, April 15. The location of this track outage was between Jamestown and Windsor, North Dakota.

The Devils Lake Subdivision is scheduled to be returned to service today at approximately 2:00 p.m. CDT. This location is approximately 15 miles east of Minot, North Dakota. BNSF is routing trains around the impacted area where alternate routes exist. We will continue to monitor and take proactive measures to maintain fluidity through the BNSF network.

Customers may experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
