Midwest Rail Operations Update

As predicted, Winter Storm Titan brought snow, wintry mix and ice to the Plains, Midwest and Ohio Valley; it then swept into the Northeast over the weekend and into Monday. BNSF completed preparation work to minimize the impact from this storm, as communicated in advisories late last week.

Chicago-area operations remain at Alert Level 3 across all carriers as designated by the Chicago Transportation Coordination Office (CTCO). The CTCO consists of representatives from all U.S. and Canadian Class I railroads.

In response to Alert Level 3 conditions, all railroad carriers continue to work together to re-route certain traffic destinations to alternate gateways and alternate interchange and processing points when possible.

We recognize the continuing impact that current conditions are having on our customers and we are committed to restoring service levels as quickly as possible.
