Weather: Update to Flooding on the Pacific Northwest Division

This is an update to the weather advisory issued on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, regarding the on-going flooding conditions in the Pacific Northwest region.

The Sumas and Woodinville branch lines are closed at this time. BNSF is staging trains due to increased volume operating on alternate routes. Velocity is being affected by this staging, the use of alternate routes and slow orders.

The Scenic subdivision is estimated to re-open at 8:00 p.m. tonight, November 8. Until such time, all intermodal and carload trains will be staged between the Pacific Northwest and the Twin Cities divisions. Customers can expect 24-48 hour delays on traffic moving in and out of the region. Following the opening of the Scenic subdivision, all mainline routes will be open, and all trains on the interior will be back into the traffic flow.

BNSF will continue to monitor the situation and customers will receive further updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
