BNSF Automotive 2014 Thanksgiving Operating Plan
This year, the Thanksgiving holiday will be observed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28.
The number of trains operating on BNSF track is typically lower over the Thanksgiving holiday due to reduced freight volume. BNSF's Automotive 2014 operating plan for the Thanksgiving holiday will adjust operations to account for this potential reduction in traffic while remaining focused on meeting customers’ expectations.
Due to lighter volumes and possible train consolidations we anticipate that outbound and inbound shipments on Tuesday, November 25, through Monday December 1, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 48 hours.
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.
