UPDATE: Widespread Flooding Impacting BNSF Operations in Midwest

New Webpage Highlighting Recovery Efforts

BNSF continues to address major disruptions to service and operations in the Midwest caused by record flooding. Multiple subdivisions in Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri remain out of service with high water and track washouts in many locations. Some trains are experiencing significant delays and extended transit times due to service outages in the region.

While many destinations and facilities are still inaccessible, water levels are slowly receding, and crews are working aggressively to clear affected locations and repair damaged track.






This short video highlights the work that our employees and contractors are doing to restore service as quickly as possible.

We also continue to closely monitor other areas along the Missouri and Mississippi rivers that are at risk for service outages in the days ahead. In response to any service interruptions, we will continue to utilize re-route options where possible to minimize disruption to traffic flows.

BNSF has also created a new Midwest flooding recovery webpage (www.bnsf.com/floodrecovery) to provide specific information and resources regarding this event. Customers can find the latest service outages map, current list of embargoed destinations and links to helpful online tools, such as submitting a freight diversion request, all available here. Additional resources will be added to this page in the days ahead.
