BNSF Automotive 2009 Thanksgiving Operating Plan
This year, the Thanksgiving holiday will be observed on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27.
BNSF will continue to operate automotive trains over the Thanksgiving holiday. However, due to lighter volumes of traffic and possible train consolidations, shipments originating or terminating Wednesday, November 25, through Monday, November 30, may arrive at destination facilities as much as 48 hours later than normal.
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.
AUTOMOTIVE FACILITY OPERATIONS
On Thanksgiving Day, facilities will be closed unless business warrants staying open. Please contact your BNSF Automotive Marketing or Customer Support Representative if you anticipate critical service requirements over the holiday.
For interactive tracing 365 days per year, please use BNSF’s Web Tracing at www.bnsf.com by logging in with your username and password, then selecting the “Equipment Tracing” section. For service issues, please call 1-888-428-2673, options 4, 3.
Customer Support will provide normal weekend coverage. We will have a limited staff available to take calls on Thanksgiving Day and on Friday, November 27.
Shipping instructions must be submitted via EDI or by using the BNSF Shipping Instructions web tool at www.bnsf.com. Faxed shipping instructions are not accepted. Assistance with shipping instructions at the BNSF Revenue and Pre-Rate Waybilling Center is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Please call 1-888-428-2673, options 3, 2, 3, for assistance.
