BNSF Automotive 2014 Labor Day Operating Plan
This year, the Labor Day holiday falls on Monday, September 1.
BNSF's Automotive 2014 operating plan for the Labor Day holiday will remain focused on meeting customers' expectations while matching operations to any reductions in traffic volumes. Due to higher ground counts at origins this year, near normal train operations are planned. During the holiday period, train and local terminal service will operate according to normal schedules, sizing yard support to reflect specific customer holiday requirements. Given the variable volume levels we may see during the holiday, we anticipate some effect of extending our service schedules as we consolidate volumes to fill trains. We anticipate that shipments originating or arriving destination on Monday, September 1, through Thursday, September 4, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 24 hours.
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.
AUTOMOTIVE FACILITY OPERATIONS
All automotive facilities will observe normal working hours during the holiday period.
