Weather: Flooding on the Pacific Northwest Division

The following is an updated advisory on the on-going flood conditions in the Pacific Northwest region. A strong storm system continues to push across the Pacific Northwest today, exacerbating the already existing major flooding in many areas.

Updated current track conditions are as follows:

Skamania on the Fallbridge subdivision (track between Portland, Oregon and Pasco, Washington) was taken out of service due to water rising above the rail and is intermittently operational.
The Scenic subdivision (track between Everett, Washington and Wenatchee, Washington) is closed due to standing water rising up to three feet above the rail in some areas. This line should be back in service by 8:00 a.m. (PT) on Wednesday, November 8.
The Seattle subdivision (track between Tacoma, Washington and Portland, Oregon) is operational, although water is being reported to be up to the rail at some locations.
The Stampede subdivision (track between Auburn, Washington and Ellensburg, Washington) has portions of track closed while repairs are being made at various locations. This line should be back in service the afternoon of Tuesday, November 7.
The Bellingham subdivision (track going north out of Everett, Washington up towards Canada) is out of service until 3:00 p.m. (PT), Tuesday, November 7, in order to make repairs and assess damage.

In addition, the Seattle Subdivision reported a mud slide blocking Main Two near Longview Jct., Washington; however, there is a clear route via Main Track One at this time. A map is attached for reference.

Intermodal and carload trains will be staged between the Pacific Northwest and the Twin Cities divisions. Customers can expect 24-48 hour delays on traffic moving in and out of the region.

BNSF will continue to monitor the situation and customers will receive further updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
