Update: FXE El Paso Interchange Closed
As noted in the Service Advisory issued July 20, 2013, FXE (Ferromex) Railroad has temporarily closed the interchange with BNSF Railway at El Paso, Texas due to flooding south of the U.S./Mexican border. New opening time is now estimated 4:00 p.m. Central time, Friday, August 2, 2013. El Paso, Texas, is in far west Texas, near both the U.S./Mexico border and the border of New Mexico.
Some trains destined for the FXE via the El Paso gateway may be diverted toward the Eagle Pass gateway and will be spaced according to line capacity as well as interchange capacity.
BNSF will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
