Update Report: Track Washouts in North Dakota

As reported in a Service Advisory issued on Thursday, April 16, 2009 BNSF is experiencing flooding and track outages in North Dakota.

The KO Subdivision was returned to service at 10:40 p.m. CDT on April 15, 2009. This location is between New Rockford and Bremen, North Dakota, approximately 75 miles east of Minot, North Dakota. Track conditions are improving and BNSF will continue to monitor and take proactive measures when necessary to keep operations fluid through the impacted area. We will continue to move trains at reduced speeds through this area.

The Devils Lake Subdivision has been taken out of service for the next 10 to 12 days due to a bridge being removed from service and high water remaining over the tracks. This location is 15 miles east of Minot, North Dakota. BNSF will continue to route trains around this impacted area where an alternate route may exist. We will continue to monitor this situation and advise as conditions improve

As advised on April 16, 2008 the Jamestown Subdivision was returned to service at 1:45 p.m. CDT on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. BNSF continues to move trains at reduced speeds through this impacted area. BNSF will further advise when this subdivision has been returned to normal service.

Customers may experience delays of 24 to 48 hours on shipments moving through the KO and Jamestown subdivision.
