Flood Update - A message to BNSF customers about the effects of Midwest flooding on BNSF
To our valued customers:
BNSF’s River Subdivision between St. Louis and Memphis was re-opened yesterday, allowing us to resume service to local customers as well as providing through train service over that line. Only the line between Burlington, Iowa, and West Quincy, Mo., is still closed due to the effects of flooding on the Mississippi.
Cleanup and repair crews are working at multiple points on that line as floodwaters continue to recede, and we anticipate that their work will allow us to re-open that trackage shortly after the last of the floodwaters drop below track level.
I look forward to reporting in the next few days that the last of our flood-damaged track is back in service, and that we are providing normal service to all customers whose rail connections had been affected.
