Update Report: Flooding in Minnesota and North Dakota (Red River Valley)

As mentioned in a Service Advisory on Thursday, March 26, 2009, BNSF is experiencing flooding throughout the Red River Valley region. Even though we are able to get the trains through the area, there may be specific industries we are not able to serve because of the high waters. Trains are still running through Fargo, ND and Dilworth, MN. BNSF continues to develop numerous reroute plans to help minimize the delays for our customers.

More detailed information on affected areas can be found below:

Red River Bridge near Grand Forks, ND is out of service. This segment is estimated to return to service on Monday, April 6, 2009.
Humboldt, MN to Noyes, MN is out of service. Noyes interchange traffic will be rerouted until further notice.
Harwood, ND to Gardner, ND is out of service. This segment is estimated to be returned to service on Monday, April 6, 2009.

Customers may experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through these corridors.
