BNSF Automotive 2014 Independence Day Operating Plan

HOLIDAY OBSERVANCE
This year the Independence Day holiday falls on Friday, July 4.

TRAIN SERVICE
BNSF's Automotive 2014 operating plan for the Independence Day holiday will remain focused on meeting customers' expectations while matching operations to any reductions in traffic volumes. Due to higher ground counts at origins this year, near normal train operations are planned. During the holiday period, train and local terminal service will operate according to normal schedules, sizing yard support to reflect specific customer holiday requirements. Given the variable volume levels we may see during the holiday and the plant shutdowns associated with model changeover, we still anticipate some slight effect of extending our service schedules as we consolidate volumes to fill trains. Though there should be less impact than in previous years, we anticipate that shipments originating or arriving destination on Tuesday, July 1, through Saturday, July 12, may experience extended destination availabilities of up to 24 hours. Destination facilities of Orillia and San Bernardino are expected to be particularly challenged with heavy volume and reduced haul away over the holiday. Additional extended destination availabilities of up to 48 hours may occur at those facilities for traffic arriving from Friday, July 4 through Saturday, July 12.

INTERLINE TRAFFIC
Delays may occur on interline traffic if connecting carriers have reduced operations for the holiday.

All automotive facilities will observe normal working hours on the days before and after July 4. Loading and unloading on July 4 will be performed as required. Please contact your BNSF automotive marketing or customer support representative if you anticipate service requirements over the holiday.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT
For interactive tracing 365 days per year, please use BNSF’s Web Tracing tool at www.bnsf.com by logging in with your user name and password, then selecting Track Your Shipment. For service issues, please call 888-428-2673 and select option 4, then option 3.

Customer Support will provide normal coverage on the days surrounding Independence Day and will maintain a limited staff on Friday, July 4.

Shipping instructions must be submitted via EDI or by using the BNSF Shipping Instructions Web tool at www.bnsf.com. Faxed shipping instructions are not accepted.
