Extended Customs Hours Now At Eagle Pass, TX
As a result of a joint agreement with U.S. Customs and Mexican Customs, crossing hours for railroads moving rail traffic between the U.S. and Mexico at Eagle Pass/Piedras Negras have been extended from an average of 12 hours per day to 16 hours per day, seven days per week. The additional hours of service were granted as a temporary measure and will be in effect through July 15, 2008. We are working with these customs agencies to make the additional hours of service permanent.
Shippers who have experienced delays in the past due to limited crossing hours available to railroads at Eagle Pass should now expect to see improved service through this gateway. Shippers who have been discouraged from shipping through Eagle Pass because of past service challenges are now encouraged to reevaluate this option.
