New Carload Shipment Notifications Now Available on bnsf.com

As mentioned in a bnsf.com Update on January 8, BNSF is introducing new and enhanced carload shipment notification options through the Notifications channel inside the secure bnsf.com. Loaders, unloaders, in-care-of (or similar parties) may now sign up to receive the below notifications by email, informing you of events surrounding your shipments to make it easier for you to manage them. You will also see a recent historical record of the notifications sent to you on the “Recent History” tab.

Notifications Moving from Fax to Email
BNSF is transitioning carload notifications formerly sent by fax to email. These email notifications will contain the same information as fax notifications sent currently.

Enhancements to Existing Notification – Service Change Notification
This notification sends an alert when there is a time of day and/or day of week change to local service. Changes made to local service will now show details of your previous service and what the new service will be.

    New Notification – Embargo/OPSL Awareness Notification
    This new email notification sends an alert when a rail shipment is impacted by an embargo (temporary restriction of traffic movement) or OPSL note (permanent controlled traffic movement).

    How do I sign up?
    Customers must be a registered bnsf.com user to receive notices by email or to view the notices online. If you do not currently have a bnsf.com login (ID and password), you are encouraged to register as soon as possible by clicking on the “Register/Login Customer” link at www.bnsf.com.

    Email subscriptions can be found on your secure bnsf.com home page inside the Notifications channel, on the “Monitor Shipments” tab. See a sample screenshot.
