Receive Your Carload Shipment Notifications By Email Later This Year

In an effort to better target communications and streamline the process by which carload customers receive shipment notifications, BNSF will transition carload shipment notifications from fax to email later this year. The email notifications will contain the same information as the below fax notifications sent currently.

o RRTHAZ (Reverse Route Hazardous Empty Waybill)
o CP Notices (Constructive Placement)
o Arrival Notices – Team Track & Non-Team Track
o Team Track Placement
o Mechanical Detention
o Switch Failure Credits
o Inventory Snapshot
o Not Done Pulls and Spots
o Overload Notices

Email subscriptions will be managed through the Notifications channel in the secure bnsf.com and can be customized by notification type and by specific track locations. You will also be able to see a recent historical record of the notifications sent to you.

    BNSF Contact Verification
As part of the conversion to email, BNSF will be conducting a contact information verification process for your company by station location. Prior to the email notification functionality becoming available, BNSF Customer Support may contact your company to verify the “Local Railroad Contact” (per station, if there are multiple). The information includes first name, last name, phone number, phone extension and email address. If you receive an inquiry by phone, fax, email or U.S. mail, please follow the directions to respond promptly.

What else will I need to do?
Once available, each contact from your company wishing to receive email notifications will need to sign up inside the secure bnsf.com. Customers must be a registered bnsf.com user to receive notices by email or view the notices online. If you do not currently have a bnsf.com login (ID and password), you can register at any time by clicking on the “Register/Login Customer” link at www.bnsf.com.

Where can I find more information?
Additional instructions, including how to subscribe to notifications through bnsf.com, will be sent in a bnsf.com Update closer to implementation.

For help obtaining a bnsf.com login, please contact BNSF eBusiness Help at 888-428-2673, option 4, 1, or email eBizHelp@bnsf.com. For questions about the content of the notices or details about your shipment, please contact BNSF Customer Support at 888-428-2673, option 4, 3.
