UPDATE: Service Restored on River Subdivision in Missouri
After an extended outage due to record flooding, BNSF re-started full train operations on our River Subdivision, which runs between St. Louis, Missouri and River Junction, Arkansas, approximately 20 miles northwest of Memphis, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time today. As we reported, portions of the subdivision, specifically from near Crystal City to Cape Girardeau that run adjacent to the Mississippi River, had been forced out of service for nearly two weeks.
Several maintenance windows are scheduled during the remainder of the week for additional track work. Customers may continue to experience delays on shipments designated to move through this corridor until operations have fully normalized.
Some rain showers as well as severe thunderstorms are possible in the region beginning Wednesday night and into the upcoming weekend. While water levels have receded, any additional rainfall could affect track conditions in recently flooded areas and cause some service disruptions. BNSF crews are monitoring the conditions closely and will address any affected areas.
We will continue to provide customers with further updates on any significant service interruptions.
