Initial Report: Flood Waters on the Douglas Subdivision in Kansas
BNSF is currently experiencing operational impact due to track outage caused by heavy rainfall on the Douglas Subdivision in Winfield, KS. Winfield is approximately 24 miles east of Wellington, KS. This location impacts traffic to and from Chicago to Texas.
Heavy rainfall across Southeastern Kansas last night and today has caused the Walnut River to hit major flood stage, which has resulted in segments of main track on the Arkansas City Subdivision and on the Douglas Subdivision to be removed from service at 8 p.m. CDT on Friday, September 9, 2016. There is no estimated time for opening the track at this time.
