Preliminary Report: Bridge Outage at Burlington, Iowa

On Saturday, January 29, 2011 at approximately 5:30 p.m. CT main track one and two on the railway bridge at Burlington, Iowa were taken out of service.

It is estimated main track one will be returned to service at 5:30 p.m. CT and main track two at approximately 10:30 p.m. CT, January 30, 2011. BNSF may re route some traffic in order to minimize impact to service. We will continue to provide you with additional information as it becomes available.

Customers may experience delays of 24 to 36 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
