Preliminary Report: Derailment near Arcadia, Kansas

At 3:35 PM CDT on Saturday July 21, 2012, preliminary reports indicate an empty coal train, E-MHSEBM0-88, traveling from Springfield, MO to Kansas City, MO, has derailed near Arcadia, Kansas approximately 19 miles south of Ft Scott, Kansas.

BNSF personnel are en-route to determine the impact. At this time we have no estimate on the reopening of the mainline. BNSF will continue to provide you with additional information as it becomes available. Customers may experience delays of 24 to 48 hours on shipments moving through this corridor.
