BNSF Los Angeles Intermodal Facility Sheila Street Construction Beginning March 15, 2007

The City of Commerce is making improvements on Sheila Street from Atlantic Boulevard to approximately 500 feet west of Arrowmill Street. The work will consist of removing and replacing the existing street pavement, grind, asphalt overlay and striping and traffic loops.

This project is scheduled to begin Thursday, March 15, 2007, and will continue for approximately three weeks. The work hours will be as follows:

      6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Friday
      6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17
No parking "Construction Zone" signs will be posted within the work area prior to actual construction.
Travel lanes may be reduced, so please allow time for getting through the construction area.
Uneven pavement, loose gravel and dust are part of construction work.
The contractor will periodically sweep the area.
There will be times when vehicular and/or pedestrian traffic may be restricted for safety reasons or when concrete or asphalt needs to be cured.
This project will also lead to the permanent closure of the current BNSF bobtail gate located on the east end of the yard near the 710 Freeway. Drivers should proceed to the main gate.

A map of the area showing alternate routes is attached for your convenience.

If you have questions regarding these street improvements, please contact Chad Engroff, Senior Manager of Hub Operations at the BNSF Los Angeles Intermodal Facility at 323-267-4259.

Your business is important to us. Thank you again for choosing BNSF as your transportation provider.
