Pacific Northwest Marine Terminal Update
The reduction in labor productivity at the Pacific Northwest marine terminals continues to impact BNSF's normal service to and from the ports in Seattle and Tacoma. As such, we will need to reinstate inland facility gate restrictions at LPC (Logistics Park Chicago) on empty containers destined for those ports.
Cicero and St. Paul gate restrictions will also be in place for empty containers bound for Seattle and Tacoma.
In addition, we will activate inland gate restrictions at our Denver and Omaha Hub locations for empties also destined for the Pacific Northwest ports.
All gate restrictions detailed above are effective Thursday, November 20 at 5 p.m. (CST). We will also ask for all interchange traffic transporting empty containers in the Chicago area be held by foreign carriers.
We will keep monitoring this ongoing situation and look forward to a quick resolution so that service to and from the Pacific Northwest can be fully restored.
