New Checkpoint Process At Alliance, Corwith and LPC To Begin This Month

Over the past two years, BNSF has implemented a new ingate and outgate checkpoint process at several of its Intermodal facilities to improve gate throughput and speed up drive time into and out of the facilities. This process included Optical Character Recognition (OCR) - using video cameras to identify equipment prefixes and numbers and create images of the equipment.

Beginning this month, we are further enhancing our ingate and outgate checkpoint process by requiring biometrics – a driver fingerprint identification process that helps further improve gate throughput and security – for the locations listed below. We appreciate that 95% of our customers have registered, and we encourage the remaining drivers to do so before the dates below to ensure a smooth transition.

Process Overview
What is the current process at the Gate System Kiosk?
Driver enters their Driver’s License/Identification into the kiosk
Kiosk requests remaining information to complete the transaction

What is the new process at the Gate System Kiosk?
Driver enters their Driver’s License/Identification into the kiosk
Driver will be required to provide a fingerprint scan to validate their identity (biometrics)
Kiosk requests remaining information to complete the transaction

How to Prepare for the New Process
If you have not registered:
Drivers are encouraged to register as soon as possible before the implementation dates to ensure a smooth transition and reduce delays at checkpoints
Registration can be completed with a valid Driver’s License at each facility’s Driver’s Assistance building
Registration is required – Ingate and outgate transactions cannot be completed until drivers are registered

If you have already registered:
Drivers who have already registered at one of BNSF’s Intermodal facilities will not need to re-register at these facilities
